Seri muka is a Malaysian steamed layer cake (kuih) which consist of a glutinous rice (thai sweet rice - sticky rice) layer steamed with coconut milk and a sweet pandan custard layer to finish off. It's green layer comes from the pandan leaf, but some do add green colouring. I prefer to stick with the natural green the pandan leaf gives out once blended. Seri Muka is a steamed, Malaysian dessert that consists of two layers: the white glutinous rice on the bottom, and the green pandan layer on top.

  3. For the pandan layer. Add all the ingriedients and pulse in a blender. On top of a steamer, stir the mixture until it becomes thick. Then pour over the hot rice. Steam another 30 minutes.
  4. Cool it down before you can cut. Consume within 24 hours as it will go bad quickly. You may store in the fridge but the rice will become hard.
