As far as I go Chirer Pulao is largely similar to a Poha, with small differences like the former does not have kari patta, is sweeter and is overall Bong.   1. At first soak the flatted rice means chira in plain water for 3-4 minutes.Strain the water after that.
  2. Now heat 1 tbsp white oil and 1 tbsp ghee in the pan
  3. Add the whole garamasala and the bay leaf in it.when aroma comes out add the onion and fry till golden brown.Add the green chilli.Fry for 1 minute.Add the raisins and the chira in it.Mix well and add salt,sugar as per taste.Cook for 3-4 minutes with cover. Now turn off the gas and serve it.

It would be a little sweet and tart. Begun Chirer Pulao – Brinjal n Poha Pulao. Soak in water with little salt for half an hour OR if you are running out of time just wash them well. For people who are bored of having simple poha for their breakfast… try this bengali version of poha also called as "Poha Pulao" or "Chirer Pulao" which is made with loads of vegetables and dry fruits cooked in ghee and garam masala.
