Dango is one of the most favored of current trending meals on earth. It’s appreciated by millions every day. It is simple, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. Dango is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They are fine and they look wonderful.

Dango is a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour mixed with uruchi rice flour and glutinous rice flour. It is different from the method of making mochi, which is made after steaming glutinous rice. Dango is usually finished round shaped, three to five dango are often served on a skewer (skewered dango pieces called kushi-dango (串団子)).

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have dango using 8 ingredients and 15 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Dango:
  1. Take 1 1/3 cup rice flour
  2. Prepare 1 1/3 cup sweet rice flour
  3. Take 3/4 cup hot water
  4. Take 2/3 cup water
  5. Get 1/2 cup sugar
  6. Get 2 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  7. Make ready 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch (mixed with 1 1/2 tablespoons of water)
  8. Make ready 5 skewers

There are two types: onna dango (female dango) and otoko dango (male dango). Bocchan Dango Bocchan Dango are a delightful treat that comes in three colors and flavors: red (made with red bean paste), yellow (eggs), and green (green tea). This variety of dango comes from Hokkaido. Made with potato flour and baked with sweet boiled beans, it is a very filling, special treat.

Steps to make Dango:
  1. Preheat food steamer
  2. Mix rice flour, sweet rice flour, and 2 tablespoons of sugar into a bowl
  3. Slowly pour hot water into the bowl little bits at a time. Stir and knead slowly, until dough becomes smooth
  4. Continue mixing until all contents in the bowl are combined
  5. Knead dough with hands until smooth
  6. Divide dough into small pieces and roll into balls
  7. Place dumplings into steamer and steam them on high for 10 minutes. Another recipe said to cook your dango balls in boiling water for 10 minutes
  8. Grab a saucepan
  9. Mix water, the rest of the sugar, and soy sauce in saucepan
  10. Boil the mixture over medium heat
  11. Pour corn starch into mixture and stir
  12. Bring to boil again and stop heat
  13. Grill skewered dumplings until slightly grill-marked
  14. Pour the mixture over your dumplings
  15. Enjoy!

This variety of dango comes from Hokkaido. Made with potato flour and baked with sweet boiled beans, it is a very filling, special treat. To make dango, we first make the dough by mixing rice flour (sometimes a mixture of rice flour and glutinous rice flour) with water until it becomes pliable and then forms into balls before boiled. Whereas mochi is made by a method of steaming mochigome (short-grain glutinous rice), pounding till stretchy, and forming into different shapes. Dango is a type of sweet Japanese dumpling that's typically served on a skewer.
