Pinipig is made from sticky rice also called glutinous rice or malagkit in Filipino language.

The ingredients needed to make Toast Pinipig:
  1. Take 1 cup pinipig young sweet rice flakes

Remove from heat and let it cool. Grind toasted pinipig in a mortar and pestle until coarsely ground. Binusang Pinipig - simply dry toast in the pan without any oil until crunchy and a bit golden. The green pinipig is the binusang pinipig in the photo but you can use any type and color of pinipig.

Instructions to make Toast Pinipig:
  1. Over medium-low heat fry pinipig without oil
  2. Note: If your stove’s medium-low is still high switch it to low.
  3. Stir constantly to cook pinipig evenly.
  4. Color will turn golden. If already crunchy turn off heat.
  5. Set aside to cool down. Transfer to an airtight container.

Binusang Pinipig - simply dry toast in the pan without any oil until crunchy and a bit golden. The green pinipig is the binusang pinipig in the photo but you can use any type and color of pinipig.
